Decontamination of Electronic Devices
Digital forensics practitioners often receive digital evidence of an unknown origin. Unfortunately, it is rare to receive background information on the device to understand if the device has been exposed to material that may be biohazardous to the examiner. Additionally, some evidence may exist in biohazardous environments that is abandoned because it is deemed too dangerous to examine.
In this webinar, we will examine best practices for the handling of devices exposed to biohazardous materials like bloodborne pathogens, fentynal and viruses (yes, even the virus that causes COVID!). Participants will learn about appropriate protections for handling dangerous devices and methods to decontaminate the devices for safe handling.
This program is open to all members and prospective members!
