HTCIA Carolinas Chapter Meeting
The HTCIA Carolinas Chapter will hold its next meeting as a web-based event on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 12 Noon to 1 PM Eastern Time.
HTCIA was formed in response to the industry’s need to train and develop expertise in investigating high technology crimes. By providing compelling training content through both physical and web-based chapter meetings, the Chapter strives to meet those objectives. We also hope that the convenience of web-based meetings encourages active participation by our members, and attracts new members from both law enforcement and industry from across the region.
Chet Hosmer will present the training topic – Leveraging YARA rules for Malware Investigations using Python.
During this presentation and demonstration, Professor Hosmer will provide an overview of YARA Rules and demonstrate how to employ them to perform malware searching and the identification of compromise.
Chet is the current President of the HTCIA Carolinas Chapter and serves a Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona in the Cyber Operations program where he is teaching Python, Violent Python, Machine Learning and Cyber Deception Methods.
