The Washington State HTCIA is a synergy between law enforcement and private industry. Our primary focus is on leveraging our collective experiences for the betterment of our community and society as a whole. Academia, law enforcement, and the private sector in Washington State working together to educate and help combat computer-related crime. The High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA) is designed to encourage, promote, aid and effect the voluntary interchange of data, information, experience, ideas, and knowledge, about methods, processes, and techniques relating to investigation and security in advanced technologies among its membership. By becoming a member of the HTCIA you will affiliate yourself with a professional organization which will help you fully understand and address issues associated with investigations, apprehensions, and methodologies associated with the newest breed of high tech criminals. With the explosion in use of computers and the Internet, there is an uprising in criminal activities that utilize these powerful tools. From computer viruses to data processing fraud, there are many growing threats that expose our society to a new kind of criminal activity. Chapter Events
